Rabindra Narayan Quits PTC — Father of Punjabi Television Sets Sights on Global Media Empire
Colleagues, friends, and fellow travellers on this incredible journey;
Writing here today, I feel something that's hard to describe—a blend of pride, gratitude, a pinch of sadness, and above all, a deep sense of fulfilment.
When I began this journey - post #PunjabiWorld and #ETCPunjabi - PTC wasn't just a channel—it was a belief. A belief that #Punjabi stories, voices, and faces deserved not just a place on the screen, but a place in every home across the world. We weren’t just building a media network—we were building a mirror for the soul of Punjab.
Some said it couldn’t be done. They said a Punjabi channel couldn’t go global. That #Gurbani wouldn’t find a daily audience. That shows rooted in soil and culture wouldn’t travel far. But we did it. Together with an incredible team. With sweat, spirit, sleepless nights, and endless cups of chai.
I’ve had the privilege of watching this team turn chaos into clarity, scripts into stories, and setbacks into comebacks. What we’ve built together isn’t just measured in TRPs or YouTube views—it’s measured in the way a grandmother sings along with a Shabad we aired, or the way a kid in Canada learns his first Punjabi word from our series.
I’ll be honest—this goodbye isn’t easy. But sometimes, when a story reaches a perfect pause, the creator must step away to tell a new story. PTC was never just a job. It was home. PTC was, is, and will always remain my heartbeat.
But the time has come to chase a different #sunrise. To build again. To create again. To imagine stories that haven’t been told yet. To reach Horizons that haven’t been chased yet.
To each one of you—who stood by me when things were uncertain, who pushed boundaries, who disagreed with me (passionately, and rightly so), who laughed, cried, fought, and created—you are the real soul of this organisation.
I leave not with sorrow, but with gratitude. Not with regret, but with resolve.
In Punjabi, we say:
"Rabb Rakha. Jo vi karna, sach de naal karna. Te dil naal karna."
(May Waheguru protect you. Whatever you do, do it truthfully. And do it with heart.)
Growth demands change. Creation demands courage.
Today, I begin a new chapter: launching a Global Indian Creators' Hub—a bold platform for cross-border collaboration, where stories from Ludhiana to Los Angeles can find common ground.
This isn’t just another media venture. It’s a movement.
A movement to amplify Indian voices, bring independent creators together, and build a louder, bigger, braver Indian media landscape—one that spans continents, cultures, and communities.
The journey ahead is uncharted. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned—when the intent is pure and the vision is clear, the world listens.
To those who walked with me so far: thank you.
To those who will walk with me now: welcome to the future.
Let’s create. Let’s collaborate. Let’s conquer.
Thank you.
